Library Glossary: E-F

E-Book(s) – The digital version of a printed book. E-Books can be accessed via the catalogue and/ or databases on our website.

Editor – A person or group of people responsible for compiling the writings of others into a single source of information.

Encyclopedia – A work that gathers information from all branches of knowledge and arranges it alphabetically. The purpose of an encyclopedia article is to give an overview of a subject.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions. Check out our FAQ page.

Field – These are the pieces of information that make up a record for an item. Examples of fields include: title, author, subject, etc.

Fulltext – The complete text of a book or article is available.
