APA for Business

This guide provides examples of APA citation for business resources accessed through CBU Library.

In-text Citations

A work that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized must be "cited" in the assignment text.  APA uses parenthetical citations which are pretty straightforward. Excellent examples can be found on Purdue University's OWL.

Reference List: Basics

Examples of how to reference standard items ie books, journal articles plus specific CBU-held resources are on the Reference List page.
Here is how to format the Reference list:

  • Start the reference list on a new page at the back of the assignment.
  • Type the word References at the top center of the page.
  • Double-space all entries.
  • List entries alphabetically by last name of author or, if there's no author, first word of title
  • The first line of each entry should be left aligned, subsequent lines are indented. In Word, right click to Paragraph>>Indentation>>Special>>Hanging
