Sheet Music Consortium From website: "The Sheet Music Consortium provides tools and services that promote access to and use of online sheet music collections by scholars, students, and the general public."
Sheet Music from Canada's Past This site is a source of sheet music published in Canada before 1921, selected from the Sheet Music Collection at Library and Archives Canada. The Sheet Music Collection includes over 20,000 patriotic and parlour songs, piano pieces, sacred music and novelty numbers, some dating back to the 1700s. Besides the expected Canadian imprints, it includes music by Canadians or about Canada published anywhere in the world. Many of the cover illustrations are of particular interest.
IMSLP-Petrucci Music Library IMSLP stands for International Music Score Library Project, which offers public domain scores (325,000 scores on Aug. 17, 2015). This site strives to comply with Canadian copyright laws. The page linked here is to the list of genres: note Folk Songs, National Anthems, Hornpipes, etc. The IMSLP/Petrucci Music Library is currently owned and run by Project Petrucci LLC, a company created with the sole purpose of managing this site.
The New York Public Library - Public Domain Sheet Music Thanks to the New York Public Library's massive digitization project, a number of important collections have become available. 4,730 results for sheet music are found on Sept. 6, 2015. Also check MUSIC DIVISION: The Music Division is one of the world's preeminent music collections—documenting the art of music in all its diversity—classical and opera as well as the whole spectrum of popular music including spirituals, ragtime, jazz, musical theater, film, rock and world music. While the division contains many scores and manuscripts from centuries past, its curatorial mandate is an activist one, placing major emphasis on capturing the creative output of contemporary composers.
The Elizabeth Ross Manuscript - Original Highland Airs Collected at Raasay in 1812 Elizabeth Ross was a competent transcriber and her settings represent well the wide range of Hebridean music known to the islanders and in Raasay House, home of James MacLeod, laird of Raasay - Elizabeth’s uncle and guardian. This important manuscript was discovered and bought for the School by Francis Collinson in 1954. It contains 150 airs of which about 100 are vocal airs, the others being instrumental dance tunes or slow airs.
Pacific Northwest Sheet Music Collection The Pacific Northwest Sheet Music Collection is part of the Ashford Sheet Music Collection at the University of Washington Music Library. The Ashford Collection was built from a core collection donated by Paul Ashford to the University of Washington in 1959.
