Library and Information Instruction

CBU Library offers several services to support your teaching:

Research and reference services: Liaison librarians are available to provide research assistance in-person at the Research Assistance Desk, via phone, email, or Novanet chat.

Subject guides/course guides: Library guides (LibGuides) are subject-specific resources to assist your information search. Liaison librarians can also collaborate with you to create course guides which you can link directly to your course Moodle. Course guides help your students find resources needed for their course assignments. Also, visit the Teaching & Learning  LibGuide  for more resources to support your teaching in the classroom and online.

Library tours: Library tours are offered year-round to help students navigate the library space, collections, services, and resources.  To book a tour please contact your liaison librarian.

Library workshops: Librarians are available to provide customized information and library workshops throughout the academic year. Workshops may include (but are not limited to) topics such as locating call numbers, conducting literature reviews, basic searches in Novanet, evaluating sources, advanced search strategies in subject-specific databases, special collections, citations and Zotero.  For customized library workshops please contact your liaison librarian.

L-150 Library Instruction Lab: A space for teaching, library instruction, technology use and study. During times when the facility is not scheduled for instruction, it is mainly used by students to work and study in, and can be booked for occasional group teaching, library staff training, technology use and other uses that fit within the library’s mission and vision. The Library Lab can be booked by liaison librarians. This is first come first serve, however first priority is given to library instruction provided by Library Staff at CBU.
