The industry standard commercial GIS software, Esri's ArcGIS is well-established in the GIS and mapping world. CBU users have access to ArcGIS online and ArcGIS Pro, among other Esri apps. Contact your librarian for setting up an account.

QGIS (Quantum Geographic Information System) is a free, open source GIS software suite. It is a robust alternative to the commercial software, with a greater availability of tools and helpful online community to answer questions, though with a somewhat steeper learning curve.

Leaflet is a JavaScript library for mobile-friendly interactive maps. It is lightweight and friendly to use, though requires some knowledge of JavaScript - there is no straightforward GUI for map-making and working with data.
