Welcome from the Dean and What to Expect for Fall 2020!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new and returning students to the Cape Breton University Library. While you won’t be taking your classes on campus this upcoming term, the CBU library’s resources and staff are available to provide access to the information you need for your studies and to help in finding and using that information. I encourage you to register with the CBU Library. It is through the Library that you will be connected with valuable information resources such as e-books, online academic journals, films, sources of data etc. All will be readily and easily accessible to you through the library’s website. These resources are credible, authoritative, and chosen by subject specialists and faculty to support learning and research at CBU.

In addition to making the information available to you, we are here to help you find, access, and use credible and authoritative information which will help you to build competence and confidence in your academic endeavors. Just use our Ask Us live chat service – there are staff available to provide assistance. Each of our school librarians will be providing instruction in your online classes and will be available through online chat and email to help you individually find, use, and cite the information you need to succeed in your studies and assignments.

We are part of your learning team; whether you are working online or, in the future, on the CBU campus. We, at CBU Library, look forward to working with you this year.

On behalf of all at CBU Library, good luck with your studies and have a great year!
