Distance Students: Registering with the Library

As a Cape Breton University student you can access online resources using your email and email password, by using the 'off campus sign in' link below. Students must register your Student ID card with the library if you want to do things like check out books, place holds, or place an Interlibrary loan.

Distance students with a CBU ID card may contact Patrick Hanratty  to obtain a library barcode.

If you do not have a CBU Student ID card, contact the Registrar’s Office for further information.

Off-Campus Sign In

If you would like to use the library's electronic databases and resources, login here by using your email and email password. You do not need a library barcode.

In order to sign in Novanet (Click Guest to find SIGN IN on the top right of the search page), use the instructions below. This allows you to check out books, place holds, renew books and place interlibrary loans.
