A directory of data available from GeoNOVA, the province's geospatial data provider. While much of the data listed is openly available, some is only available for teaching and research by request; please contact the Data Services Librarian for access to these datasets.

The open data portal from the Government of Nova Scotia. Includes geospatial (mostly from GeoNOVA) and other data.

Forestry data from Natural Resources and Renewables for the province of Nova Scotia, available by county. Developed using digital photography over multiple years, the data includes in-depth information on forest/land classification, canopy data, species data, and more.

Boundary Files based on Census Geographies from Statistics Canada. Available from 2001-present, primarily based on census years. Census Subdivisions are available for intercensal years.

From Statistics Canada: The correspondence files contain unique identifiers for the current census geographic area and the corresponding unique identifier for the previous census geographic area. In addition, a relationship flag is included which indicates the degree of correspondence between the geographic areas, facilitating the comparison between census years.

Statistics Canada offers national road network files, by census year. These are suitable for research purposes, though there are noted caveats on the page's information.

From the Government of Canada's Open Data Portal, the Open Maps section contains geospatial data available from various government organizations, including Natural Resources Canada, Fisheries and Oceans, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and more.

This dataset contains buildings across Canada, automatically extracted from 2018 LiDAR data, optical imagery, and other data sources.

Altalis is a co-operation between the Alberta Government and Spatial Data Warehouse, and offers geospatial data for the province of Alberta, including property, terrain, and base data.

The Government of Newfoundland's open data portal, focused on the spatial datasets.

The Northwest Territories Centre for Geomatics offer data and maps for the territory, as well as services to assist in research.

Provided by Land Information Ontario, the Ontario GeoHub includes geospatial data on a wealth of subjects, including health, geology, agriculture, and more.
