If you're searching for information on a particular topic, a recommended search strategy is:
- Start with a keyword search, using words/phrases that describe your topic
- If wanting books only, limit your search to "Books" (see: Resource Type on left of screen)
- Browse the results; choose 2 or 3 titles that seem relevant
- Click the title to view the Subject field; you can either click a subject to begin a new search or make note of subjects - and -
- Redo your search using those terms
Discoveries, such as Novanet, can return thousands of results. Use filters located to the left of the screen to limit to:
- Availability (select Full Text Online for e-books, etc.)
- Resource Type (articles, books, conference proceedings, etc.)
- Library (Cape Breton University)
- Creation (publication) date
- Subject
- and more
