About this guide
This libguide supplies information resources to help you do research in sociology/anthropology.
Students should use this guide, where appropriate, in conjunction with the Anthropology libguide, as no attempt has been made here to identify and separate what is essential, if anything, to those interwoven disciplines. It may be helpful to reflect on the ANTH/SOC department language with regard to what identifies the two domains:
-
"Sociology and Anthropology are separate but overlapping disciplines:
Anthropologists focus on the intensive exploration of groups, neighbourhoods, and small communities, from less-complex to industrial societies.
Sociology studies the interaction of people, including cooperation and conflict, power and poverty, religion and revolution, migration and marriage."(from CBU's Anthropology/Sociology webpage)
